Tonga Chamber of Commerce to host PRIF Week 2023 Tonga Hub

The Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry will host the Tonga hub of the PRIF Week 2023 virtual conference on October 16, 2023, at the Fa’onelua Convention Centre at 11:00am. The hub will bring together private sector representatives, government ministries, and civil society to discuss the importance of gender and inclusion in delivering and planning quality infrastructure.

“We are excited to host the Tonga hub of the PRIF Week 2023 virtual conference,” said Sam Vea, President of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “This is an important opportunity for Tonga to join the Pacific region in discussing the meaning of quality infrastructure and how to achieve it. We look forward to hearing from our speakers and participants about how we can work together to build a more sustainable and inclusive future for Tonga.”

The hub speakers will share the importance of gender and inclusion in delivering and planning quality infrastructure. They will discuss how to ensure that everyone, including women, youth, children, remote communities, and disadvantaged groups, benefits from infrastructure investments.

The hub participants will also join the opening session of the Conference will be led by the PRIF Coordination Office Team Leader, Sean O’Sullivan, and keynote speakers include DFAT the Cook Islands and New Zealand Pacific Trade Commissioner.

The PRIF Week 2023 virtual conference will be held from October 16-20, 2023. The conference theme is Quality infrastructure for a Blue Pacific Continent. The conference will bring together Pacific infrastructure practitioners and stakeholders to discuss what quality infrastructure means for the region, the opportunities and challenges of applying quality infrastructure investment principles in Pacific infrastructure delivery programs, and PRIF’s partners’ infrastructure priorities and products and services.
