PRIF welcomes Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry President and Vice President at Pacific Infrastructure Conference

The Pacific Region Infrastructure Facility (PRIF) Team Leader, Sean O’Sullivan, extended a warm welcome to Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. President Sam Vea and Vice President Aloma Johansson at the PRIF booth. during the Pacific Infrastructure Conference held from September 25 to 27, 2023, in Brisbane, Queensland.

The conference, which focused on crucial infrastructure developments in the Pacific region, provided a unique platform for stakeholders to come together and discuss the pressing needs of Pacific island nations.

During their visit to the PRIF booth, Ms. Johansson was delighted to receive a copy of the Tonga national infrastructure investment plan for 2021-2030, specifically the update concerning Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haapai. This update had recently received approval from the Government of Tonga, signaling significant progress in Tonga’s infrastructure development.

The Tonga national infrastructure investment plan serves as a crucial document outlining Tonga’s infrastructure priorities and investment strategies for the next decade. Its approval reflects the government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure projects that will benefit the people of Tonga.

PRIF, as a key partner in infrastructure development across the Pacific region, actively supports initiatives like the Tonga national infrastructure investment plan.
