TCCI President Sam Vea participates in EU-Papua New Guinea Business Conference

The President of the Trade and Commerce Chamber of Papua New Guinea (TCCI), Sam Vea, attended the 4th European Union – Papua New Guinea Business, Trade and Investment Conference, held in Port Moresby on October 30, 2023. The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss sustainable economic opportunities and strengthen the European Union’s partnership with the Pacific.

The conference, which was attended by government officials, business leaders, and representatives from various sectors, centered on enhancing the EU-Pacific partnership, with a particular focus on key areas such as Agribusiness, Fisheries, Energy, Technology, and e-Business sectors.

The conference discussions revolved around the mutual benefits of promoting sustainable economic development in the region. Topics ranged from increasing agricultural production and trade to bolstering fisheries management, harnessing renewable energy sources, and promoting innovation in technology and e-business.

The European Union’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Pacific region was well-received by conference attendees. The event concluded with a commitment to ongoing collaboration and exploration of sustainable economic opportunities.

Sam Vea expressed optimism for the future of EU-Pacific relations, highlighting the potential for positive economic growth, job creation, and the development of a more prosperous and sustainable Pacific region.
